Freeman boasts a host of medical services and health care facilities that range from congregate and assisted living to longterm care.
Freeman Regional Health Services (FRHS) is an independent medical center affiliated with Avera Health Systems. It includes Freeman Medical Center, a 25-bed acute care/critical access hospital; Oakview Terrace, a 55-bed skilled longterm care facility; and Rural Medial Clinics, which offers services in general medicine and operates satellie clinics in nearby Bridgewater, Marion and Menno. FRHS also operates a pair of congregate living facilities in Freeman — Dewald Street Village and Walnut Street Village.
The Salem Mennonite Home is also part of the health care community in Freeman and provides assisted living care to aging adults not yet ready for an extended care facility.
